We are proud to give new life to the sails of Team Zhuhai, fresh from the prestigious Clipper Round the World Race 2023–2024. These are not symbolic references to adventure — they are the genuine sails that circled the globe, weathered storms, and carried a determined international crew across 42,723 miles and six continents. Every abrasion, salt mark, reinforced seam and hand-sewn repair is part of that story.

Team Zhuhai holds the record for the highest number of podium finishes in Clipper Race history — a remarkable achievement in one of the most demanding endurance sailing events in the world. The sails bear the quiet evidence of that performance: tension lines from heavy wind, rust shadows around original eyelets, scratched surfaces from winches and hardware, and layered sailmaker repairs applied mid-race under pressure. These details are preserved, not concealed.

Each sailcloth artwork is carefully stretched over a solid wooden frame, allowing the material’s natural structure and history to remain visible. Using professional-grade acrylic paint alongside traditional sailmakers’ materials — stitching, reinforcement patches, thread and original hardware — the composition evolves in dialogue with the sail itself. Seams become compositional anchors. Eyelets punctuate negative space. Areas of wear absorb pigment differently, creating depth that cannot be replicated in studio-made canvas.

Every piece is entirely original. No two sections of sail experienced the same wind, the same watch, or the same moment at sea. The result is a body of work defined by authenticity, endurance, and transformation — elite racing technology reimagined as refined contemporary art.

As a lasting tribute to the crew’s achievement, each artwork retains Team Zhuhai’s call sign, CV25, alongside a bespoke label featuring Clipper Round The World branding on one side and the Team Zhuhai logo on the other. These elements are not decorative additions; they are provenance.
